Ecosystems in Balance

On Monday and Tuesday, students were introduced to a fun activity from Ecosystems in Balance in which the students are given the following mission: A small group of southern sea otters that lives in the Pacific Ocean close to Ocean Edge is in trouble. For a few years, the people of Ocean Edge have noticed that there are fewer and fewer sea otters — but no one can figure out why. As a Science Expert, it’s up to you to find the answer. To complete this mission you will work with a small team of Science Experts. As a team, you must study the sea otters’ environment, investigate the number of births and deaths in the group each year, and look at the things in the environment that might be causing the sea otters to die.

We will began with investigation #1 in which they were to gain some background information of sea otters and answer the group questions.  Most of the assignments will be done in class with the only homework, finishing any work not completed in class.
